Hi there! I'm Alberto, I'm joining the WTXL team after spending most of my life in the Tampa Bay area. I'm a graduate of the University of South Florida and am a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
I have previously worked in digital and print news, but am very excited to take this first step in broadcast news in my home state. I'm originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, a first generation college graduate and naturalized American citizen.
If I’m not watching sports or consuming something sports-related, chances are I’m deep down some internet rabbit hole about geography. I’m serious, I spend my free time trying to pinpoint exactly where in the world Google Maps drops me (its called GeoGuessr, look it up!).
I'm looking forward to knowing Collegetown like I know... the U.S. highway numbering system that helps me get a perfect score on GeoGuessr.
