Hi! I am Kenya Cardonne, your neighborhood reporter for Southeast Tallahassee. I joined the ABC 27 Team in 2024.
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida by a Hispanic family who gifted me with my Cuban and Mexican heritage.
My love for journalism started in the library of my local elementary school, where I became an Anchor on the Morning Announcements Team. From informing the school about the lunch menu, to now informing communities in Tallahassee about pressing issues and events— I could not be more excited to tell your stories!
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Digital Communications and Multimedia Production + Minor in Art at Florida International University. I anchored and reported for the school’s news program while working as a Floor Director at WPLG Local 10 News in Miami. After a year of working on the production side, I became a Writer for Local 10. Weeks later, I was promoted to Producer. Wearing multiple hats at Local 10 was so much fun, but my passion for reporting was calling, and ABC 27 answered!
I have covered stories of all kinds of topics, from politics to crime to entertainment. Outside the newsroom, I enjoy photography, art, music, baking and trying out local restaurants and cafes!
Meeting new people is what I am most excited about, so please don’t hesitate to say hello! I hope to serve as a strong advocate for the community, so if you have any concerns you feel need to be heard, please reach out to me on socials or via email at kenya.cardonne@wtxl.tv
See you around!
