TRAFFIC ALERT: Shadeville Road reopens to drivers after crash injuring Crawfordville man, baby

UPDATE: 10/7/2025 5:33 P.M. Shadeville Road has reopened after a crash that injured a man and baby. In an interview with FHP, Crawfordville Neighborhood Reporter Serena Devanzo learned the baby was thrown from the SUV, and an adult was trapped inside.

FHP says because of the extent of the man's injuries, he had to be taken to TMH by helicopter. According to the highway patrol, the baby's injuries included a cut on the face.

A baby was hurt in fiery crash in Crawfordville. The Florida Highway Patrol says the baby was taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare to be treated for minor injuries.

The driver, a 25-year-old Crawfordville man, was airlifted to TMH by helicopter with serious injuries. The crash happened around 4:07 p.m. Tuesday. The roadway is closed at Shadeville Road near Atkinson Road. The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office, EMS and fire rescue are on scene.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to avoid Shadeville Road as it is shut down in both directions in the area of Atkinson Road due to a serious car accident.

They're telling drivers to find alternate routes.
