1) Madison County School Board Faces heated backlash over alleged classroom racial slurs. The School Board didn't take any action after 2 teachers were accused of using racial slurs in class. A special meeting is set for March 9th.
2) Florida bill would tighten rules for public employee unions, drawing pushback from Leon County teachers. Florida lawmakers are considering legislation, Senate Bill 1296, that would impose stricter requirements on public employee unions, drawing opposition from union members across the state, including teachers in Leon County.
3) State Department now urges Americans to leave Middle East countries as war intensifies. The State Department is steering Americans toward the STEP program, which registers their trip abroad so they can receive updates from U.S. Embassies and other official department communication.
4) ‘We’ve really lost the plot’: Florida session could drag into overtime again. Florida lawmakers are running out of time, and signs are mounting they could once again blow past their 60-day deadline as budget negotiations lag and major priorities stall.
