TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) — As a front slowly inches south into our area, pop-up showers and storms will continue through Saturday.

The increased cloud cover and showers will keep temperatures on the lower side, until Sunday.

Sunday will feature a little bit of drier air trying to sneak in and it will be successful in doing so for a few neighborhoods, especially south Georgia. So, although temperatures will be back in the upper 90s, the drier air will hold the heat index on the lower end of the triple digits.

A handful of showers and storms are expected throughout Sunday afternoon starting around 1-2 p.m.. Any showers won't last too long, so any outdoor plans should be kept around. Due to the pockets of dry air mainly hugging Georgia counties, the activity will mainly be for those across the Big Bend.

As we start the workweek, we will slowly return to a more summer like pattern with highs around average in the lower 90s and scattered afternoon rain activity.
