VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - A man has turned himself over to authorities for the shooting death of a Valdosta teenager.
Eric Simmons turned himself over to Hillsborough County authorities on Monday. There were several warrants out for his arrest including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in Lowndes County.
Police say that Simmons shot Damaria Hill on Sunday in Valdosta; Hill died in the hospital on Monday.
The Valdosta Police Department say they are working on extraditing Simmons to Lowndes County and are planning on adding additional charges as a result of Hill's death.
