TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The City of Tallahassee has released redacted reports from the three officer-involved shootings that took place in the Capital City this year.

Tuesday, the city released the heavily redacted reports. The move comes after media outlets, activists and others pushed for the city to release both reports and video depicting what took place during the shootings.

The first officer-involved shooting of this year took place on March 20 after police responded to Blairstone Road for an attempted carjacking.

Mychael Johnson, 31, died at the scene from his injuries and both officers who responded were put on administrative leave.

The second officer-involved shooting happened on May 19 when officers responded to the Circle K on North Monroe Street but later ended up coming into contact with an armed suspect outside of the China Super Buffet.

A confrontation led to the suspect, 69-year-old Wilbon Cleveland Woodard, being shot and killed. The officer involved in that shooting was also placed on administrative leave per policy.

The latest officer-involved shooting happened on May 27, after a fatal stabbing on Holton Street ended in the death of the suspect, Tony McDade.

The Florida Benevolent Police Association has filed several injunctions seeking to protect the identity of the officer who shot and killed McDade, saying they believe the officer's identity should be protected from release under Marcy's Law.
