TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Employees at Good Samaritan Thrift Store worked through Christmas to give people without a place to spend the holiday somewhere warm to stay.
"This is one of my best Christmases," said Sam Johnson with the Good Samaritan Network Administrative Office. "I can't think of a better way to think about the gift that Jesus gave us."
People were able to sit around a TV and chat inside. The shop is the pickup spot for the cold weather shelters this weekend at 7 p.m. Employees said they wanted to offer people a place to stay safe and out of the cold for the day.
"I myself have been in that position and have had people help me and we had the facilities and we just want to use what we have available to help these people and share some hope during this tough time," said Johnson.
The Good Samaritan Network also has a food bank open six days a week along with a benevolence program to help struggling families find furniture and other needs.
