(WTXL) — The COVID-19 vaccine has begun rolling out for people 65 and older in the ABC 27 viewing area.

ABC 27 has compiled a list of the vaccine distribution plans released by each county. The counties in our viewing area are listed in alphabetical order.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, FL

The Franklin County Health Department has begun administering the COVID-19 vaccination to healthcare providers who are in direct contact with patients and any individual age 65 and older.

COVID-19 vaccines are available by appointment at the Apalachicola and Port St. health department locations. Call (850) 653-2111 in Franklin County or (850) 227-1276 in Gulf County to schedule your appointment.

GADSDEN COUNTY, FL

The Gadsden County Health Department has begun administering the COVID-19 vaccination to healthcare providers who are in direct contact with patients and any
individual age 65 and older.

On Jan. 5, the health department announced that they would be administering 200 Moderna vaccines per week to residents aged 65 and older by appointment only.

HAMILTON COUNTY, FL

The Jefferson County Health Department is coordinating with local private health care providers to begin the administration of the vaccine to their front-line health care workers.

For persons 65 years of age and older, email the completed and signed Moderna Vaccine Screening and Consent Form to JeffersonCHD@flhealth.gov to be added to their vaccination schedule.

The completed form can also be delivered directly to DOH Jefferson.

Once received and reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule your vaccine administration appointment.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, FL

If you are age 65 or older, you may be vaccinated through the Leon County Health Department or your physician as the vaccine is available.

Appointments are required to be vaccinated at the Leon County Health Department.

As of Thursday, January 7, the health department has closed the current online request for vaccine appointments.

This has been done in anticipation of a new scheduling program to increase their efficiency.

DOH-Leon said that they will honor all who have previously submitted vaccination request forms before transitioning to the new system.
