TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — As the usual peak of the Atlantic hurricane season approaches in the weeks ahead, interest in future trends was high at the Hilton Garden Inn event room in Tallahassee Tuesday afternoon.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse was invited by the Capital Rotary Club to address the hurricane season at their weekly lunch meeting.

The 20-minute talk with about 20 club members focused on how tropical systems originate, and a peek at the forecast trends and signals that will be considered in hurricane forecasts for the rest of August and September. The gathering concluded with a wide-ranging question-and-answer session with the attendees.
