TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — As dry conditions continue to worsen across the Big Bend, lots of folks have been asking for more rain.
We've seen more burn bans put into effect. Thankfully Tropical Storm Nestor brought some much needed rainfall. Earlier last week we saw additional rainfall and we are looking at most likely improving drought conditions by the time the new monitor comes out on Thursday.
Areas like Carrabelle saw in excess of two inches, we only saw about three quarters of an inch here in Tallahassee, and lower totals further north in southern Georgia where that drought continues to get worse.
But the silver lining here is that more rain continues to be in the forecast for this week and this weekend and continue to chip away at that rainfall deficit.
We should continue to see improving drought conditions in the forecast for the next week.
