TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- There is a large area of clouds and rain in the Gulf of Mexico near Cuba. This system could acquire tropical or sub-tropical characteristics over the next several days as it slowly moves northward to the Florida/Alabama border. At this time, there is a 40% chance of development over the next five days. Regardless of development, this will bring rain to the Florida Peninsula and the south eastern Gulf of Mexico.
