TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Tropical storm Karl has 40 mph sustained winds and is moving west-northwest at 14 mph this morning. Karl is continuing to become more organized and is forecast to strengthen as it moves over warm waters. By this weekend Karl is forecast to become a category two hurricane. The track will also shift north over the next few days due to high pressure in the western Atlantic. There are no local threats.
Tropical depression 13 has 35 mph sustained winds and is moving towards the west-northwest at 9 mph. Circulation remains established and could intensify slightly in the short term. In the long term this will be moving into an area of strong shear and dry air which will impede any further development. The path will remain the same, moving west-northwest. No local impacts are expected.
