MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Cindy made landfall before 4:00am Central Time in the southwestern part of Louisiana. As of the 4:00am CT advisory, maximum sustained winds at the surface are at 40 mph (minimal threshold for tropical storm).
The cyclone will continue to move north, weakening into a depression and soon it will accelerate northeast as a cold front absorbs the circulation.
Overall flow around the system will continue to promote the chance for rain locally, though it will be minimal in impact. The heaviest rain coverage (while still displaced east of the center) will be closer to the circulation.
