TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- One area of interest still remains in the tropics, though it should become a remnant low in the next 24 hours.
Subtropical Storm Beryl continues to churn off the east coast, about 400 miles north of Bermuda (450 miles south of Halifax, Nova Scotia.) Beryl has winds sustained at 40 mph with stronger gusts.
Although the storm slowed last night, it is expected to gain speed. Right now, it is moving in an east northeast direction at 6 mph. Subtropical Storm Beryl will continue moving in a northeastward direction toward colder water. The cooler water will help weaken the storm and cause it to become a remnant low.
