TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The cold temperatures we saw yesterday continue into today. A hard freeze watch is in effect for most of the area through Thursday morning. Make sure to have your faucets at a steady drip or else you may have frozen or burst pipes! Lows this morning are in the mid 20s and we will hit a high in the mid 50s which means bundle up in layers and stay warm as you venture outside today. Thursday morning lows will also remain in the lower 20s but we warm up to the lower 60s under full sunshine. A high pressure system that hovers over our region is allowing the temperatures to start off low and warm quickly into the afternoon, just not as warm as we usually see for this time of year. The 4P's, people, pets, plants, and pipes, are still important as we have another night in the lower 20s by Thursday morning. As Friday comes around we see lows in the lower 30s and highs in the upper 60s. For the weekend temperatures continue to rise to the lower to mid 70s and lows in the upper 50s and low 60s as the high pressure system moves off the shoreline and winds start to turn off the Gulf of Mexico. This will usher in our next frontal system and rain chances increase to around 60% for the beginning of next week.
