MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Considerable cloudiness lingers in the region, thanks to an inflow of moisture lifted into the atmosphere by an active upper flow over the northeast Gulf. Showers and storms have been confined to northeast Florida and offshore Gulf waters, but a little extra warming has triggered additional areas of rain in eastern sections of the region, moving west. Isolated thunderstorms are possible. Late-night temperatures will fall into the lower 70s as most showers end. Sunshine will be limited in the eastern half tomorrow, while more breaks of sun are possible near the tri-state Thursday afternoon. The Gulf moisture source will still generate higher rain coverage for coastal and east areas, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Local winds will also be influenced by a high-pressure ridge over the Carolinas, helping to dry the region out by the weekend while temps are expected to run a few degrees above average in the afternoons.
