MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A gloomy period of wet weather is in store for Tuesday and Wednesday as an area of low pressure and a large surge of moisture move into our local area. This can increase the potential for storms, and even a few strong to severe storms. After Thursday, clearing is expected, with a calm finish into the weekend.
Tuesday: A combination of instability, low pressure, and atmospheric moisture will allow for widespread showers/storms across the Big Bend and South Georgia from the morning through the afternoon. Forecast highs are in the lower to mid 80s, with very little direct sunlight expected. A few strong to severe storms are possible. The largest severe threat is expected to be damaging winds.
Beach and Boating forecast information is below:
Wednesday: Another round of mostly cloudy skies with widespread rainfall is anticipated. Forecast lows are in the lower to mid 70s with highs in the lower to mid 80s. Periods of heavy rain and lightning are possible.
Thursday: This complex wet system will continue to push east, with lingering rain in the AM hours. The afternoon should feature clearer skies. Expect lows in the lower 70s and highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Friday and Saturday: As the system moves away, drier conditions will continue. This will allow for cool and dry mornings (upper 60s to near 70°) with hot and dry afternoons (lower 90s).
Sunday and Monday: A Summer-like set-up is expected with humid conditions. Expect lows in the lower 70s with highs in the lower 90s. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible for both days.
