MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The continued northeasterly wind flow is forecast to push showers and storms developing in middle Georgia generally to the south through the late-afternoon and evening hours, so local rain and thunder chances are expected to increase toward the early phase of the nighttime period. The thunderstorms should begin a weakening mode by then, but initial strong thunderstorms are possible in interior south Georgia. Clouds will disperse early in the morning as lows drop to the mid 70s. Most of the morning after dawn will be quiet with sunshine, scattered clouds by midday, and the return of patches of rain and thunder by afternoon with highs near 90° to the mid 90s, with isolated cases of upper 90s and heat index values up to 105°. The amount of daily rain will vary from day to day, with a decreased amount by the end of the week. Temperatures will remain above average, particularly if rain development becomes scarce Friday and through the weekend.
