MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The highest chances for widely scattered showers or storms this evening will be in eastern counties along I-75 toward the northern Nature Coast region, where the seabreeze flow has been more productive in supporting building cloud cover. Brief heavy rain and occasional lightning are possible from these storms, which will diminish as we go late into the night. Breaks of clear sky are forecast overnight with lows again around the 70° mark. We have one more day of overall upper high pressure influences, meaning another hot afternoon in the low to mid 90s, feels-like temps nearing 100°, and late-day showers and storms few in number. We will transition into a slightly more unsettled pattern over the weekend, prompted by a couple of upper-level disturbances approaching from the west-northwest, and a plume of tropical moisture reaching the eastern Gulf by Sunday. In general, rain chances will increase, especially in the southeastern Big Bend. A possible tropical low may form amid the moisture source, which would more likely move toward the Florida peninsula by Monday or Tuesday.
