MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
Plenty of heat late today, but a minimal amount of showers triggered by the heat and the seabreeze. For this evening, scattered clouds and isolated raindrops are forecast, with patches of clearer sky early. Lows will fall to the mid and upper 60s, but another deck of clouds is expected before sunrise from a diminishing cluster of storms over Alabama. That leftover cloudiness and wind flow, caused by an advancing cold front, will be crucial in determining where scattered showers and thunderstorms will form Friday afternoon, and how strong they could be. Highest potential for thunderstorms will stretch from Apalachicola to Valdosta, and points to the southeast. Isolated cases of stronger storms with gusty winds and some hail are possible. Despite some extra cloud cover, highs will still reach the mid 80s to around 90°. The cold front does provide a dry air mass, full sunshine this weekend, but the main time of noticeable cooling will be in the mornings.
