Storm Team Thursday evening forecast (04/27/2017)

MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The heat will crank up considerably over the next three days, thanks to a build-up of upper-level high pressure near the Florida peninsula, and southerly winds will add the moisture to give us a prelude to the summer swelter.  This evening, though, a few showers will occur near the Flint River and the tri-state junction area through this evening.  There is limited risk for isolated thunderstorms to become briefly strong, but severe weather shouldn't become a huge hassle.  Scattered clouds will linger, especially western areas, with lows in the upper 60s to near 70°.  Areas away from the coast will see readings peak in the upper 80s to low 90s.  Isolated mid 90s can't be ruled out in the Suwannee Valley.  The hot and humid weather will persist through Sunday, then a stronger cold front Monday will bring areas of rain and a modest cool-down.
