MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The cold front is sliding eastward through the region, putting an end to the heavy rain and flooding event and kicking off a stretch of drier days. The front is strong enough to drag in northwest winds, carrying cooler and drier air straight into the area, and impacting temperatures overnight by pushing them well into the low 50s and even upper 40s for the tri-state area by dawn. Breezes will slack off as the high pressure system builds into the area, keeping the sky clear and bright Friday, which will let temperatures rise back into the 70s and lower 80s. The weekend will feature abundant sunshine, only a few passing clouds, and a general warming trend during the day after cooler-than-average lows. A weak front may scratch the area from the north on Sunday, but significant rain activity is not forecast.
