MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The unsettled weather and gloominess continues as the weekend progresses with Sunday being much more unsettled. Storminess will remain to be on and off through Saturday evening with coverage around 30-40% as the sea breeze helps to form some shower and storm activity out east and push them to the north and east. Lows Saturday night into Sunday morning will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees across North Florida and South Georgia with highs across the region at or just below 80 degrees.
Late Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon will be a messy one as a nearby disturbance helps to influence the instability across the region. Taking factors such as strong winds from the Gulf of Mexico, abundant moisture, and some opportunities for heating from the Sun and you have ingredients necessary for some strong to even severe storms for our area. Rain coverage will be around 80% with the main severe risks being flash floods and heavy winds in excess of 60 mph. Hail and isolated tornadoes remain as a low but still possible severe threat. The showers and storms will move in from the west late Sunday morning around noon-time, before forecast to track east as a line as the afternoon progresses.
Later into Monday, the messy weather will finally begin to push away with a front dragging it all east, but Monday might be stormy as well, though not as numerous. Still, some messy weather is possible with coverage around 50% and highs reaching the mid 80s...
