MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A stalled front will help promote scattered showers for the Big Bend and South Georgia on Monday and it will slowly drift south of the region. The further south it gets, the more southward drier air can intrude into our South Georgia counties.
Monday: The morning starts off with partly cloudy skies and some areas of light fog possible. Expect morning lows in the lower to mid 70s. For the afternoon, skies will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and storms. A stalled front over the Big Bend will help promote more scattered showers/storms. An important note, however, is that if you live along and south of this line, the rain chance will be higher. Rain coverage is 20% for South Georgia and 40% for North Florida.
Your Beach and Boating forecast and your Tide Times for Monday are below:
Tuesday and Wednesday: The front will stall just to the south of the area allowing more of an influence of drier air from the north. Still, it's proximity to us will allow a rain chance (20% South Georgia, 30% North Florida). Expect morning lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s, with highs in the upper 80s.
Thursday through Sunday: Rain chances jump back up with a return of humid flow from the southeast. This will mean a more typical Summer-time pattern that may be enhanced with numerous showers for the end of the weekend. So far, the forecast has lows in the lower to mid 70s each day, with highs in the upper 80s climbing back to the lower 90s by the weekend. Rain coverage is expected to be around 40-50% each day.
