TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - A cold start to the MLK Jr. Holiday with temps around the freezing mark. Expect some light frost on the windshields this morning so you may have to give a few extra minutes to defrost the car heading to work this morning. With plenty of sunshine and light winds this afternoon, expect temps to quickly warm back into the upper 60s. Expect the chill to return tonight as high pressure remains dominant allowing for mid 30s to spill back into the Deep South. Expect highs to get into the low 70s by the afternoon. An isolated shower or two are possible by Wednesday with highs flirting with 70°. After this weak front passes through, expect a brief cool down with highs only in the mid 60s but is still a few degrees above average. But another, more aggressive low pressure system digs along the Gulf Coast bringing in widespread rain chances by Friday. It'll be a cold rainfall though with temps in the 50s all day long. Dry conditions expected for the weekend with highs in the low to mid 60s with lows around 40°.
