TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- A tropical air mass will remain in place today and a stationary front is present northwest of the region, so this will create more afternoon storms with rain coverage at 50% and highs expected to reach the lower 90s. The highest coverage areas are expected to be in the Florida panhandle and Big Bend as well as the western portions of the area closest to the weakening front.
A tropical wave that is over the Bahamas will approach the Florida peninsula by Tuesday and move into our area on Wednesday. This system will remain disorganized but is forecast to produce local heavy rain. Rain coverage's for those days will range from 60%-70%. By Thursday the tropical low will dissipate, however deep tropical moisture will remain over the weekend. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
