Monday is starting off dreary but unseasonably warm, with widespread rain showers across the area. Some of the rain could be heavy at times, with totals approaching 2-3 inches by the time the system clears out overnight tonight. High temperatures near 70 degrees will occur this morning, with temperatures expected to fall throughout the day and bottoming out in the low 40’s by tomorrow morning. Tuesday will feature a clearing and cooling trend, with lows on Christmas morning near the freezing mark. Moisture will return to the area on Thursday, with shower chances near 20% expected. Highs for the rest of the week will be in the mid 60’s, with lows near average around 40 degrees. Slight rain chances return late on Sunday as a weak low pressure system moves up from the Gulf of Mexico.
