MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The evening of Independence Day 2016 resembles that of years past:  Spotty, widely scattered showers and isolated storms in a general weakening phase.  A few areas will be cooled down by these small areas of rain, while others remain very warm and stiflingly humid.  Most rain action should wind down by sunset or shortly thereafter ... then we'll have to monitor for patchy wafting smoke after the fireworks.  Early in the morning, areas of clear sky will be around with lows in the mid 70s.  The scattered storm pattern decreases a bit over the next few afternoons as upper-level high pressure over the peninsula shunts the more-favorable storm profile into the Deep South.  Heat will build with high in the mid 90s and feels-like temps near 105° in the afternoon.  Most of this week will feature limited rain coverage and above-average readings.
