MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
The combination of huge amount of atmospheric moisture, a weak low-pressure system in the western Gulf, and an active upper flow of air, will contribute to widespread coverage of rain, sometimes heavy, along with embedded thunderstorms. We’ve had some scattered activity today, but as these features gather and creep closer to the northeastern Gulf, we’ll experience renewed shower and storm formation. Periods of heavy rain may trigger local flooding in some worst-case situations, but rain totals of around two to four inches through Wednesday should be beneficial in alleviating drought conditions. A couple of isolated stronger or severe storms are possible, especially near the coast. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s, and highs may be subdued Tuesday to the low to mid 80s. Some breaks of sun are possible in the afternoon. More occasionally heavy rain is possible Tuesday night and Wednesday before a drier trend begins Thursday; afternoon temps return to average, and morning lows through Friday may be near or slightly lower than average.
