TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Unsettled weather will persist through Christmas Eve. This evening, the showers and storms will ease out of the area transitioning us into another misty fog-filled night so take it easy on the roads if you're traveling overnight or early Tuesday morning. Temps remain warm in the low 60s overnight. A few more showers and storms will dot the radar before lunchtime tomorrow but the bulk of the storminess will move in around lunch and beyond. Severe weather is possible tomorrow with most of the area under a slight risk for strong to severe storms. The main threats remain high wind gusts and a few isolated tornadoes that could spin up in this system. Flooding will also remain a concern. The entire region is under a flash flood watch through late Christmas Eve. Upwards of 6" is possible in the Big Bend. Low-lying areas and small creeks are the main areas of concern but the Ochlockonee and Withlacoochee Rivers could rise to a minor flood stage as well later in the forecast period. Temps remain muggy in the upper 60s and low 70s through Christmas eve. By Christmas, winds will pick up on the back side of this system, especially in the morning. Temps will cool off as the winds shift out of the northwest in the mid 40s after the family unwraps presents. By the afternoon, temps will be comfortably cool in the low 60s with plenty of sunshine to go around. Sunny skies persist into Friday as well but temps cool off as the winds slack off to the mid 30s to start your Friday morning. By the afternoon highs rebound into the low and mid 60s. A few showers could be back in the picture in the evening Saturday with more showers and possible on Sunday. Temps remain mild in the mid to upper 60s for highs through the weekend.
