TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - An advancing cold front will allow for more ample storm coverage today, with some isolated cells being on the strong to severe side. High winds, heavy downpours and frequent lightning are the main concerns. If storms do turn severe, tune into channel 27.3 for live, continuous coverage. Temps will be a little more comfortable, especially later in the afternoon. Highs will peak just after lunchtime in the low 90s before falling as the storms bubble up. As the front slowly passes us by, we could see a few storms tomorrow, mainly confined to our Florida communities as drier air will filter in for our South Georgia areas. This time of year, fronts don't have the cold air on the backside of it, because mostly sunny skies still boost temps rather aggressively. Expect temps to get hotter on the back side of the system into the mid and upper 90s for the weekend, though it'll feel slightly less humid, especially the farther inland you are. Isolated storms are possible on Sunday and Monday before more scattered action picks up and another front moves into the region by midweek, allowing for widespread storminess, mainly confined to the afternoon and evening. Temps back off courtesy of more moisture, into the low 90s for highs by next midweek. Overnight lows remain warm in the mid to upper 70s across the board.
