MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...
With a clear sky and the presence of the Arctic air mass over the eastern U.S., temperatures in the local area later tonight will steadily fall to near freezing for many interior counties. A light breeze overnight should prevent widespread frost, but a few areas in the western Big Bend and southwest Georgia may experience a couple of hours around of just below the freezing mark early Saturday morning. Lows will range from 29° in these areas to the mid and upper 30s along the immediate coast. Abundant sun and a shift in winds from the northeast will support warming in the daytime, with forecast highs in the low to middle 60s. Accelerated warming is expected Sunday with a gradual increase in clouds and highs in the 70s. Areas of rain will approach Monday with the next frigid cold front, triggering more freeze potential for the middle of next week.
A freeze Warning is in effect for portions of interior south Georgia and the inland western Big Bend region early Saturday morning.
