Many central and western locations have received a healthy one to two inches of rain so far today, and for these areas, the heaviest rain activity has come and gone. Eastern segments will get in on periods of downpours for the rest of the afternoon, tapering off gradually this evening. Winds will become breezier and shift from the northwest, keeping the region consistently cold all evening and night long as rain diminishes. A bit of leftover moisture will maintain cloudiness overnight with only scarce chances for a shower. Lows will fall into the low 30s north to near 40° south and coast. Clearing will occur through Thursday with a brisk northwest wind and chilly highs in the 50s. Wind will shift to the west/southwest for Friday while we keep sunshine, leading to a much-warmer afternoon. A weak front Saturday may produce a few clouds but temperatures are forecast to be near average.
