Easterly winds around the center of high pressure over the mid-Atlantic states has given us low doses of moisture from the east coast. Scattered afternoon cloudiness is spread across the region, but the lack of unstable air aloft has limited the chances for these clouds to build into areas of rain and thunder. A passing brief shower is possible through mid-evening, with highest chances in eastern counties, and perhaps near the coast if a weak seabreeze forms to clash with the east flow. Otherwise, most areas will feature uneventful weather this evening with gradual clearing and overnight lows falling to around 70°. Wednesday, there will be no major changes in the weather pattern; rain chances and coverage will stay less than 20% with a partly cloudy sky by afternoon and highs peaking in the lower 90s. Only subtle shifts in the weather set-up will occur before Friday, when a northern frontal system starts to approach and tries to produce more scattered showers and storms.
