We are entering a generally cloudy 24- to 36-hour period with an approaching low-pressure system and attached cold front. The region is adequately warm to prevent the major winter precipitation problems in middle and north Georgia, but not quite warm enough to warrant a huge concern for active thunderstorms. We’ll have light showers increasing in coverage and intensity overnight through most of Wednesday. Rain totals may exceed one inch in some areas. A few thunderstorms are possible along the coast, in offshore waters, and in the southeast Big Bend, SuwanneeRiver valley and north-central Florida with a few stronger wind gusts contained in them. Otherwise, most areas will stay very cool Wednesday with lows around 50°, not likely to rise out of the 50s except for southern and southeast areas. Breezy northerly winds take hold late tomorrow into early Thursday, pushing lows into the 30s Thursday morning and limiting highs to the 50s despite more sunshine.
