TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Tropical storm Fred has 40 mph sustained winds and is moving west at 10mph. Due to strong wind shear and dry air Fred is continuing to weaken. Throughout the day Fred is expected to weaken more and lose tropical storm status. However starting next week Fred could regain some strength over the warmer waters but still isn't expected to become a hurricane. The models show the path moving towards the North.

A tropical wave just offshore of Africa has a 60% chance of forming into a tropical cyclone. The tropical wave is becoming more organized and is moving west at 15 mph.
