TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- We are still watching two areas of interest in the tropics. One south of the Cape Verde Islands, and the other in the Caribbean Sea.
Starting in the Atlantic Ocean, there is a disturbance several hundred miles southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. this area of interest, has disorganized shower activity, but environmental conditions are conducive for development over the next several days. This broad area of low pressure will continue moving west northwest at 15 to 20 mph, and has an 80% chance of formation in the next five days.
Moving to the Caribbean Sea, there is a second tropical wave producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This area of interest is moving west northwest at about 15 mph and should enter into the Bay of Campeche by the middle part of next week. At this time, there is a 60% chance of development in the next five days.
