MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) --   A lengthy plume of tropical moisture stretches from the Pacific coast of Mexico northeastward through the Gulf of Mexico and into the western Atlantic.  The moisture will lead to periods of cloudiness through the weekend and generally higher chances for showers in the northeastern Gulf coast, but development of an organized low-pressure center is unlikely because of the rapid movement of air aloft in the moisture belt.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Beatriz over Mexico is embedded in this flow of moisture.  The leftover low will likely dissipate over land.  A few forecast models have attempted to re-develop a low-pressure circulation early next week in the western Gulf, but marginally warm waters and the active upper wind flow will likely hinder development efforts.

Periods of rain, sometimes heavy, will be possible Monday and Tuesday in the Florida Gulf coast region, including the Big Bend.

No other points of concern exist in the rest of the Atlantic basin.
