QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Bright minds showed off their experimental skills Wednesday at the annual science fair at Gadsden Magnet School in Quincy.
About thirty sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in the school participated in the science fair.
Topics and experiments conducted by the student scientists ranged from paper towel absorbency, to chemical reactions, to evaporation comparisons and optical illusions.
Chief meteorologist Casanova Nurse, along with other local volunteers, rated the projects based on the use of the scientific method to test a theory, observe changes and outcomes in the experiment, and compare results to the original hypothesis.
Five projects were chosen as the school's top-quality examples of science work. Three of them will be picked to compete with other projects in a countywide fair later in the semester.
