MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- "Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven" has been bringing heavy rains and strong winds to South Florida this morning. It has intensified into Tropical Storm Gordon.
Tropical Storm Warnings will be issued in a special advisory by 9:00am EDT.
The system is expected to continue to intensify once it pushes west of the peninsula. A stronger tropical storm may impact the coasts of Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
The Florida Big Bend may feel impacts from the storm in the form of heavy rains and breezy winds. High rip current risks, higher waves, and strong thunderstorms are all possible. With that being said, tropical storm force winds will likely NOT occur for local waters.
