PASADENA, TX (KTRK/CNN) – A Texas high school student is suspended after she passed out in class.

At the end of last week, Jazmin Garcia didn't feel well. Next thing she knew, she was in the nurse's office.

"I started feeling dizzy," she said. "Two police came and they did the pen test and the balance test and they told me I was under the influence of something.”

Garcia was suspended three days. Jazmin's mom said she’s shocked.

"She was mad because she knows that I don't do that," Jazmin said.

After leaving school, she went to the doctor's and had a drug test.

"Everything was negative," Jazmin said.

She blamed a medical condition for making her dizzy. A year and half ago, she fainted at home.

"They did a lot of tests,” Jazmin said. “Nobody knew what was wrong with me."

Her mom brought the drug test and medical records to school, but was told it wasn't enough.

The suspension can be appealed, a Pasadena Independent School District representative said. And Jazmin said she’s eager to do that.

"The school was saying I was under the influence of something, however, I was not."
