(CNN) - Southwest airlines says the mid-air accident in April that caused a passenger's death has cost the airline $100 million worth of business.

Debris from a failed engine blew out a window on the jet, nearly sucking passenger Jennifer Riordan out of the plane.

Other passengers pulled her back in, but she died from her injuries at the hospital later, following an emergency landing.

Southwest reported a strong second-quarter profit Thursday.

However, it said it's still feeling the impact from the deadly accident.

The company pulled advertising following the incident - and had said it was bracing for an impact on bookings.

Southwest's CEO said he expects the financial effects of the accident to abate in the third quarter.
