(CNN) - Two off-duty deputy U.S. Marshals on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein's security detail helped save a woman after a fentanyl overdose.
Fentanyl is a dangerous drug, responsible for many opioid overdose deaths in the U.S.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Tony Manson performed CPR on the woman, who was unconscious on the floor of a Chicago hotel hallway.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Carson called for help to get the woman the life-saving drug, naloxone, to reverse the effects of fentanyl, Rosenstein said.
The security team was in Chicago ahead of Rosenstein's speech there on Thursday.
They were headed back from the hotel gym when they found the woman.
Rosenstein praised their actions.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions also told the story at a House Appropriations Committee hearing on Thursday and promised to focus on the taking steps to combat fentanyl abuse.
