(CNN) - More Americans than ever before will travel for Independence Day, according to AAA.
On the historic day of travel more than 44 million Americans will go 50 miles or more, and roughly 37 million will drive to their destinations.
Drivers during the record-breaking holiday will be treated to cheap gas prices compared to last year.
For the more than 3 million people who plan to fly, airfare and car rental rates are also predicted to be lower this year.
However, for those that think time is money, the large crowds could spell trouble. It might be a good idea to leave earlier this year.
