REDDING, CA (CNN) - People out looking for a Christmas tree in the northern California woods this week found a partially clothed woman. She claimed she was kidnapped and left there to die.
The 25-year-old woman didn’t know where she was and had spent a night in freezing temperatures, rain and snow, according to Redding Police.
She told them that she found shelter in a burned-out tree and drank water from a mud puddle.
Police have arrested one woman and are now looking for another, Fred Sanderson.
The victim told investigators the suspects believed she had stolen narcotics from Sanderson.
She was taken to a local hospital.
