(RNN) - Marvel published its trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War" on Wednesday, giving fans their first look at the film since an earlier version leaked at San Diego Comic-Con in July.
The trailer puts on display all of Marvel's key players: Spider-Man, Iron Man, War Machine, Hulk, Thor, Loki, Vision, Dr. Strange, Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Starlord, Groot, Gamora, Rocket and Drax - the largest ensemble ever put together for a comic book film.
Two characters apparently missing from the trailer are Hawkeye and Nebula - surprising because Nebula was a pivotal character in the original 1991 "Infinity Gauntlet" comic book series that is the basis of the film.
Oh - and Ant-Man's missing, too. But he's probably just miniaturized himself. It's OK.
And we get another sneak peek of big bad Thanos, who has yet to appear for more than 5 minutes in any Marvel movie. Josh Brolin's purple antagonist has been relegated mostly to Marvel's famous post-credit scenes, although he made a short appearance in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"Infinity War" is the culmination of nearly 10 years of Marvel-produced films, covering many different characters and following an interconnected plot that began with 2008's "Iron Man."
Thanos first appeared in 'Iron Man' No. 55 in 1973.
"Avengers: Infinity War" is set for nationwide release on May 4, 2018.
