TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - This Friday night, preseason games kick off for high school football teams in Florida. The North Florida Christian Eagles  are coming off a 7-4 season that saw them fall in the Regional Finals to eventual State Champion University Christian.

There was a lot of talent on that team, and this season, the Eagles have the task of replacing them. Another guy they'll have to replace? Quarterback JD Jerry, who had Tommy John surgery in July. No worries though, as head coach Steve Price has been happy with the way Trey Fisher has stepped up to take over the job.

"The big things come down to focus, and eliminating mistakes, especially early in the year," he said of what it'll take for the Eagles to get back to the postseason. "We've got to focus on the little things that'll make us successful. We lost some great football players, but we feel good about the young guys that got to play a lot last year. They have really matured. I really like where we are as a team. I think we're moving in the right direction."

North Florida Christian hosts North Florida Educational Institute Friday night at 7:00.
