TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For the sixth year, 4Quarters Online, a high school football website, hosted media day in Tallahassee. This year, two dozen high schools were in attendance from across the Big Bend of Florida.

The day kicked off with a speech by former Lincoln High School standout Ryan Gilliam, who played college football at Oregon and South Florida. Gilliam now owns several businesses in Jacksonville, and said coming back to talk to kids he was once like was an easy decision.

"They think that if they don't go to the NFL, they can't be successful in life. That's so far from the truth," he said. "There's so many guys that I played ball with that are doctors and lawyers contributing to society. There's guys in politics, there's guys that are running the local dentist office down the street. If we come back and share our stories with these guys, they can know what they can do and do so much more."

Highlighting the day were three student-athletes that announced their college commitments. Terrell Powell and Michael Scott, both from North Florida Christian, pledged to Charleston Southern and South Florida respectively.

Florida High linebacker Cam Brown committed to Mercer University.
