TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - High school volleyball teams in the state of Florida kick off preseason action this week, and the Maclay Marauders are returning everyone from a team that reached the Elite Eight last season.

Head coach Erica Bunch notes her squad has worked hard in the off season, with many of the girls competing at Nationals with their respective club teams.

Between that competition, and the time they've put in the last couple of weeks, Bunch said she doesn't recognize the girls, and that's a good thing.

"The way they talk, the way they walk, the way they bring it to practice, it's just a different feel then what we've had," she said. "The sky's the limit. I tell them every single day, it's what you want. It's not what I want. We work hard in the gym. Once it becomes game day, I stand on the sidelines. I can tell you this and I can tell you that, but at the end of the day, you have to play ball."

Maclay takes the court for the first time on Friday when they travel to Jacksonville to take part in a preseason tournament.
